Keep an eye on your cat and whenever he attacks, gently spray him with water and if the doesn't, reward him with something he likes

Try to locate the birds cage where the cat cannot get to them. The cat could literally scare the birds to death or even claw them through the cage would could be fatal. I would squirt the kitty with a squirt gun full of water every time gets near the cage and also yell in a stern voice and say no. Eventually she should get the hint and associate the bird cage with water. And as you know kitty does not like water. Try not to let her see you when squirting her as she thinks its coming from near cage. Good luck.

Many times I have had both cats and birds, I never ever got them to stay away from the birds the cage gets knocked over and the birds can get hurt or out!! I finally found bird cages that are cat proof!! THEY are awesome! I have had mine for over 15 years and used it for several birds over the years and cats cant open it or get in it in fact they use it to sleep on it cant be knocked over or opened by a cat. I will attach the link were I got mine back in the 90’s, email them and see if they have any used ones you can buy, new ones are several hundred but SO WORTH IT I have got my moneys worth by far!! I have the one on the front page.. my kitty uses it as her napping bed SO CUTE! GOOD LUCK

Hang the cage up out of reach. Or sit with the kitten and use a spray bottle on the cat when he gets close to the birds.

Don't let the cat have access to the bird cage, keep the birds in a room and close the door so the cat cannot get in.

Bad new, that is Amazon your smelling, they have a pungent off colored scent to them, it will not go away, it’s just part of an Amazon. All amazons smell that way, some stronger then others.
But it’s normal. Most birds have a similar smell, only fainter. You can buy bird bath at the supply house and that should take it down a bit, but you need to do it daily to make a difference, make sure there are no drafts and it’s not to cool in the room and give him a good spray. That’s what they are doing anyway at the groomers and it’s just not often enough to make a difference. You will never rid her of the odor completely.

I have a Amazon too…he gives off this musky scent too, especally if he’s happy..its natural…I just use lysol sprayed under his cage, seems to freshun it up…I’ve had him 10 years…and try not to let some of these idiots worry you..shows he’s healthy..good luck and don’t worry..

I see your point, but does this mean that we can never know what its like in another animals universe?..

I suppose what you’re saying is: For a cat the cat is the intelligence of the cat universe just as the human is the intelligence of the human universe..

Makes you wander whether in the cat universe the cats see humans as a version of a pet, basically the way how cats regards or define pets..
