What funny things do you do with your pet birds?
Posted in funny birds by: adminWhen I was a child, I remember my father putting our 4 cockatiels on our ceiling fan- while it was turned OFF of course!!! – and slowing spinning it around. We called it "The Birdie Go-Round" hahaha… The birds seemed to enjoy it. We would only turn it around a couple times, slowly by hand… please don’t get the wrong idea! And one of my birds, his name was Buddy, could talk. One of the things he would say was "Whatcha doin’?" So it was really funny when people would come over to our house, if we had the birds out flying free around the house, sometimes Buddy would land on someone’s shoulder and say "Whatcha doin’?" …..Talk about a scare! Have you ever seen someone who didn’t know a bird could talk, just get asked what they were doing by said bird? LOL…. fun times….
Please share some of your fun times with your birds. 10 points to the best story! ![]()
Well, our cockatoo is spoiled rotten!!! Not sure how it started, but for the past 3 years, I have to take him to bed with me He gets under the covers and rest for about 4-5 minutes. Seems to calm him down a lot. When I pull back the covers, he says ‘sleep’. He knows it’s time for sleep and allows me to put him in his cage. the few times I have tried not putting him in the bed, he bounces on the side of the cage for 20-30 minutes before calming down and going to sleep himself. NEVER let him stay after I fall asleep- he would not know to get out from under me if I were to roll over- I’ve heard of that happening, with no good result!
What a cute story about yours tiels during childhood. Have a bird of your own now?

I want to teach mine to yell at the dog…sit!…or… bad dog!…or…..lay down!. That would be funny. Tucker would probably obey the bird. He’s a good dog.
